Birthdays

What do your birthdays mean to you?

To me, it's just another year. Yesterday I turned 26. I know, Happy Birthday to Me. I had a really enjoyable birthday with my husband. That's what I look forward to on my birthdays. Knowing that whatever I do I get to spend it with my husband, and that we will have an absolutely fabulous time. It's not the presents for we don't have much extra money to devote to that. It's certainly not my family as none of them seem to know that I had a birthday (including my parents.) It's my husband, and the fact that he tries to make me feel special not only on my birthday, but everyday of the year.

Happy belated b-day to you! In all honesty, to me, it is just another day. My mom and usually my sisters call and tell me happy b-day, but that is about it. My husband never really does anything for me, so it is just easier to let it pass and not think about it.

It was my birthday just last week, and we had a great time as a family, hubby and our five children, just celebrating together at a restaurant, presents aren't neccessary, just the prescence of those I love

I know how you feel. Everubody asks me what I want for my birthday, and I always tell them I just want to spend time wih them. I don't care much for presents, especially when they are "required". I am much happier to receive a box of chocolates from my husband "just because he saw them and thought of me".

I'm never sure how to react to birthdays. It's hard to celebrate mine, I cherish my wife every day and not just on birthdays, and I'm mostly indifferent to other people's having accumulated another year.
