Planning part of the fun of vacationing?

I read somewhere that women enjoy planning a vacation almost as much as they enjoying actually going on one.  I think that's true for me.  I want to have tons of information in front of me about where I'm going and plan everything out minute by minute.  I get enjoyment from doing that.  What about you?  Do you get enjoyment out of planning the vacation?  Or do you just want to go and figure everything out as you go along?

We like to count down the days like we are doing now. We are at 58 days until takeoff. I like to order brochures and find places of interest and good places to eat.

I like to gather all the information on where to go but I don't usually plan it. I have to have a very flexible schedule.
