The book is entitled "The Last Guardian" and it is written by Shane Johnson. Here is a link to the summary off of the back of the book: http://www.shanejohnsonbooks.com/thelastguardian.htm Basically a guy named T. G. finds himself thrown into another world (on another planet) and he is the guardian of an ancient artifiact. This book is wonderful! It has a lot of spiritual truths that you can get out of this book and a lot of things that you can totally relate to this world even though it takes place in another world. The action will keep you on the edge of your seat. If you liked Ted Dekker's trilogy that was akin to the matrix then you'll like this. Some of the scenes remind me of his books and especially the scene in which the followers drown in the lake (if you have read the Ted Dekker trilogy you'll know what I mean.) I must warn you that there are a few scenes in this book that make you cringe. But it's nothing extremely horrible; no language or anything. I highly recommend this book!
