NEW! Jell-O Pumpkin Spice Instant Pudding & Pie Filling Mix
Sassy saw this new "seasonal release" pudding mix in a cardboard aisle display and knew she had to share this with you!! haha! Actually, the thought of pumpkin-flavored pudding didn't appeal to Sassy, so she came up with this cool and easy pumpkin cheesecake pie recipe. It tastes even better than it looks! I tasted the pudding after I'd beaten it with milk and the word that immediately came to my mind was "nasty!" I would not be able to eat this as a dish of pudding, but after mellowing it out with whipped topping and layering it with a cream cheese mixture, this pie is pretty darn good. All the ingredients cost about $5. I will make it again! Retail price 87 cents for 3.4 ounce package which makes 4 servings of pudding when mixed with 2 cups of milk. They also had this in the stores last year and I hope they sell it again next year! I am really torn as to what rating to give it because as a pudding it is awful! But when incorporated into a dessert like this pie, it is very tasty. On a scale of one to ten, Sassy awards Jell-O Pumpkin Spice pudding mix a 6. You'd better get one now because the season is 'falling' past quickly!

It sounds like my daughter would want it if she saw the box...and it would sit in the fridge.
Clever way to make it palatable.
If you like chocolate and cheesecake, you could make that pie with chocolate pudding. It doesn't even get baked.
thanks for turning me onto it!!!~ =D
The pie looks great. I adore cheesecake and pumpkin pie.
You are so right! Most of the packaged stuff in the stores is junk food...no nutritional value, and with lots of sugar, fat and salt.
Hmmmm.... no thanks. I would rather take a little extra time and effort and use real pumpkin. I love the post though, and thanks for the exception review. You've saved me and others from wasting our money, and perhaps spared our taste buds too.
Do you use real pumpkin? When I make pumpkin pie, I usually use the butternut squash from the garden. There's hardly any difference in the finished pie.
