As a vegetarian I have not eaten a hamburger in more than 12 years, but veggie burgers are huge favorites of mine. Tonight it was time to try the Boca Cheeseburger for the first time, and I was not disappointed.
I like dressing up my burgers, and by dressing up I do not mean loading them with condiments. I dressed the Boca Cheeseburger patty up with a tiny bit of ketchup, caramelized onions, a bit of chili, roasted orange pepper, a slice of tomato, cucumber and some lettuce. I also added some fresh oregano and cilantro from the garden.

As sides I served it with slices of cantaloupe and mashed potatoes topped with fresh parsley and rosemary from the garden.

I was a bit biased towards the BOCA Burger, as I am not a fan of anything that tries to imitate the taste of meat, which some of the BOCA products do. I did try a mozzarella and mushroom BOCA burger last summer though that I liked, which is why I eventually decided to try the BOCA cheese burger.
I was positively surprised though, as the BOCA Cheese Burger patty had just the right amount of cheddar cheese in it. I am not a fan of cheese burgers in general, but the taste of the cheddar was not overwhelming, and it freshened up the taste of the BOCA burger just right. Another thing I really liked about the BOCA Cheeseburger was that it did not have a taste that resembled meat in any way, and for me this is a huge bonus as I do not like the taste of meat as all.
The only negative thing I have to say about the BOCA Cheeseburger is that even though I do not feel the need to dress up the patty as much the next time, I still find it a bit difficult to imagine it being eaten without any extra toppings.
The meal itself was very filling, and the sweetness of the ripe cantaloupe was a perfect side to the BOCA Cheese Burger and mashed potatoes.
My overall impression of the BOCA Cheese Burger patty is that I did not have to dress it up as much as I did, and it would have been good just with some lettuce, tomato and cucumber. The caramalized onion, herbs and pepper added an extra touch though, and it was a delicious meal.
Did you ever try a BOCA product, if so what did you think?

But I have to say I do like to eat real beef burgers!
YUmmmmy
I don't like a bunch of extra stuff on mine, though. I just want cheese, and either pickles or mushrooms.
After they are grilled, I like to top them with slices of Chipolte Chedder Cheese lettuce and tomato, I don't eat bread so I eat Boca Burgers with a knife and fork and sometimes with a bit of mustard.
many in my family are vegans, and it is always awesome to see the range of possibilites when I am here in Florida (or elsewhere in the States for that matter).
