I would make it an intimate dinner for two for my parents I would cook with my sibblings a romantic dinner of 3 courses begining with dogs in blankets eggrolls .... then soup followed by main course steak for my father and chiken steak for my mom she loves it with vegtables on the side. We would do it on the patio with romantic lights and music a bottle of wine .... I can see it now

I won't be able to make it at that time, so here are my answers now:

Where would you hold the party?- I would rent a beach house on Portage Lake or Lake Michigan.

Who would you invite?- Family and my Gather peeps

Who would be the chef?- Me. And any of my Gather foodies that felt like cooking!

Would it be a intimate or large event?- It would a boisterously great time as all of our parties are!

What are the main dishes that would be served?- We would barbecue since it will be a beach party: bbq pork and chicken, jerk chicken and pork, burgers, corn on the cob, fruit salads, light desserts and a fully stocked bar.

Intimate dinner party here. There is a place Himself and I love, the Hillbrooke Inn outside Charles Town, WV. The inn operates like a European countryhouse hotel, and the restaurant serves a set menu each evening--7 courses served over about two hours, with selected wines. The food and service are always glorious. The atmosphere is charming and elegant. And the focus is entirely between the dining partners. Dinner at Hillbrooke, cooked by a cordon blee chef, and space of quiet time with the man I love is the most wonderful dinner party I can imagine.

Where would you hold the party? In the Hamptons at a friend's house

Who would you invite? Family, friends, neighbors, business associates and Gather friends

Who would be the chef? My dear pasta lovin' pal I write about - she had a NYC coffee truck before 911 and she cooks the best Italian food and seafood around. The Hamptons house belongs to her cousin, so you're talking major hospitality as it runs in the family

Would it be a intimate or large event? Large, friendly, eclectic, exciting, filled with fun and love and warmth - everyone from everywhere would feel totally welcome and at ease

What are the main dishes that would be served? Lobster, baked clams, shrimp, calamari, lasagna, meatballs, baked ziti, stuffed flounder, chicken and eggplant rollatine, veal parmesan and plenty of outstanding vino

Hi golds. I'm afraid I did the dinner party, not the after dinner party. The after dinner party is really a stroll on the gournds at Hillbrook, glass of wine in hand. After 7 courses, there's no need for more food!

Where would you hold the party? Well, I would hold the party in my brand new mansion of course!
Who would you invite? I would invite anyone who wished to come if they pay a per plate fee.
Who would be the chef? The chef would be me, plus a few servants. I love to cook!
Would it be a intimate or large event? It would as much people as I could fit in there!!
What are the main dishes that would be served? Since chicken is my favorite, it would be number one.
The second dish would either be beef or fish, in case some people don't like chicken.
I would have tiny cakes, sandwiches and of course my favorite beverage, lemonade!
For other persons I would have either champagne, water, or basically an open bar.

My fantasy dinner party would consist of my immediate family (parents, brothers, sisters-in-law and niece) and my two best friends, their husbands and Jill's son. It would take place at my favorite restaurant in Rome (in Rome).

Dishes I'm most fond of are typically seafood, especially wild salmon and scallops. Yum. For dessert, something lemony, possibly with a phyllo crust. Again, yum.

I would do something big. Invite all my friends from Europe and have crab leggs and shrimps and steak for everyone. That would be my main course. For the appetizer I would have some scallops with bacon. And for the desserts, I will invite Paule Dean to make some southern style yummy desserts.

I decorate it all bymself as I love to decorate. I would put some fresh flowers on the table and get some great music, so after dinner we can dance.

I can see it now, it would be perfect

Dagmara, whenever our European friends visit, they want crab--especially blue crab from the Chesapeake. That used to be easy and relatively cheap. Not so much anymore. But we still do an outing now and then. These parties are definitely NOT intimate or romantic--especially for the crabs.

My dinner party would be just me and a special someone. By the fire, in our ski lodge in Colorado. There would be lobster, and crab legs. Chocolate covered strawberries. Champagne.

It would be catered by my best friend.

I would let Mother Nature do the decorating with snow on the windows.
