Your Inner Success Revealed

My life changed dramatically last year.  Without much warning, I suddenly became the owner of a shiny, blank slate on which to design a new life.  While sometimes in life you find yourself daydreaming about wiping the slate of your life clean and starting over with the wisdom of your mistakes to guide you, it's quite a shock when it actually happens.  For about six months, I just sat there and looked at it.  Here was this opportunity of a lifetime to design a new life and business, and all I could do was be stunned and overwhelmed by the immensity of starting from scratch. Finally, I realized that help and support were available, and I made the first decision of my new life.  I hired a coach who specializes in helping women who want to run businesses that support their flexible, creative, freestyle lifestyles.  

This first decision really got the ball rolling.  In fact, I think you'll find that often in life once you've made the Decision and put the Intention out there for something you want deep down in your heart, all of a sudden doors open and opportunities become available to you.  And as you make each next Decision, more doors and more opportunities show up until you wake up and realize one day that you are living the life you really wanted.  The kind of support a coach can give you is immeasurable, and the money you pay her for her talented skillset is worth every penny.  Not only does a coach affirm, support and encourage you, she eases your secret dreams and heart desires out into the open, calls you on your negative stuff, gives you strategies for dealing with your stuff, pushes you when you need it, and holds you accountable for doing what you say you're going to do for yourself.  She's your personal cheerleader with your best interests at heart.  It's a truly empowering experience to have someone on your team like that. 

With my coach's support, I was able to get past my fears, doubts and overwhelm to put together a vision for a lifestyle and business that came from my core, authentic self.  Together, we looked at the past and the present, and we pulled those secret desires from my heart about what I want in my life.  Each week I would take away from our session some intentions to make changes or start something new, and she would hold me accountable for taking the action.  With her support, my life started to take shape, and simmerings for a new business model that truly expressed the contribution I wanted to make in the world began.  My passion is the wellness industry, and I realized I want to specialize in helping wellness practitioners thrive in life and business and help them the way my coach helped me by providing support, strategy, and accountability.

You see, my own experience with starting a Reiki practice was all about reinventing the wheel.  I didn't get any small business training while in school, so I had to piece together how to start and run a small business from trial and error. I spent months studying the IRS website, reading every book on marketing I could find, taking community classes, and experimenting with all the different systems and models out there people claim work for them.  The thing is, I see this happening with so many practitioners in my field, too.  We are great at what do - help others - but we struggle with running a thriving business that supports our intentions to live a healthy lifestyle.  We worry a lot about there not being enough clients or there being too many bills, and we tend to work too many hours than is physically and emotionally healthy because of this lack mentality.  Despite our best intentions, most of us find the business aspect of our practices frustrating because we don't agree with mainstream business practices and we're unsure of how to do it our own authentic way.  Yet being authentic and heart-centered is the way to be successful.
