1. I love lying down after a busy day. It feels so good to be horizontal – to no longer be weighed down by my upright position. Suddenly the blood can rush to my head, and I can relax. What a relief it is!
2. I love my bed. I've got a white soft blanket that is incredibly comforting to curl up inside of. I feel so blessed by this blanket. And recently I bought myself two new pillows. Until January I'd been using a feather pillow that was given to me in 1987 and it was about time I got new pillows for myself. I bought pillows for everyone else in the family long before this; why not something for me? So anyhow, I get excited every time I think about these pillows and my soft white blanket waiting for me to cuddle up with at night.
3. At bedtime I usually read for a while, or listen to a book on tape as I'm getting ready to sleep. Right now I'm listening to The Tenth Insight by James Redfield on cassette tapes I borrowed from our local library. I read his first book, The Celestine Prophecy, years ago – and this is just as awesome if not more so. I'm very much enjoying it.
4. Before I fall asleep I do Reiki on myself. I was recently attuned to level one Reiki and am still getting used to using the energy. A book I'm reading about Reiki advised me to do this every night: I put one hand over my solar plexus and the other hand on my forehead. Then I let the energy come down through the top of my head and feel the blessings of relaxation and peace.
5. Sleep. What a blessing that is. And sleep brings dreams. I have studied dreams for years and look forward to seeing what mine will be like every night.
