Duh! Is this why Hillary Clinton lost the election? I thought Mexicans where buying their own drugs? Has no one told Hillary that we, the U.S. has the money? Oh, that's right, now that the Democrats are in power, we are fast becoming a third world country and won't have money for drugs.
So? What are we to do about stopping the flow into the U.S. Apologize to the president of Mexico Daniel Aguilar? How about he stops the flow into the U.S. How about we shoot the drug dealers on site? Oh, President Aguilar would say that was not nice.
How about we stop the flow of illegal aliens into the U.S.? How about we give the U.S. Border Patrol more power and stop putting them in jail? How about any of these, Mrs. Clinton?
Americans are not responsible for the violence in Mexico. Mexican drug dealers are, Mrs. Clinton.

we are going to become just another "banana republic"......
FOX NEWS.......
Supply and demand: simple business principle at the heart of capitalism... prices are determined by it, markets run on it, if there is supply and demand there can be commerce. Mexico has supply and the USA has demand when it comes to the drug trade.
How USA feeds the Mexican Drug Trade: Americans have a much higher standard of living than Mexicans, even now, and a lot more disposable income. Americans have also embraced a very hedonistic lifestyle of instant gratification and "doing your own thing" which, for many, includes taking a lot of drugs that are not legal in the USA and not produced there. With all that disposable income and a preference for consuming recreational drugs, they are the demand part of the equation. Mexico has a struggling, developing economy and many people who are unemployed, underemployed and very poor, but they do have indigenous plants and access to more South American indigenous plants that wealth, drug taking Americans like to buy. They are the supply side of the equation.
So the Mexican drug trade becomes big, if illegal, business feeding the American market and those engaging in it also tend to conduct their other business affairs with similar disregard for the law: by fighting a gang war instead of having stock driven hostile takeovers.
Get it?
Clinton does, and she merely owned up to America's role in the whole sordid mess.
The problem is, in some parts of the US, the authorities have been doing a great job at stemming the drug epidemic. This has led to a proliferation of drug use in Mexico. Factor into that the possibility of making 3 or 4 times as much money dealing drugs as you would working in a maquiladora for Ford/GM and you have the problem we face today.
Thanks for breaking it down so that even Republican idiots can understand it.
Poliwonk:
If George Bush and the Republican buffoons didn't destroy it by pissing on it the last eight years, the Constitution will survive.
it was pretty obvious we didn't need to be told all of that.......
some people are just sick and tired of some people thinking that taking blame and then apologizing for it (whatever it may be)....fixes everything......
learn to read between the lines.........
Rory explained it pretty well. Pay attention.
THE WORLD - Bush seeks Mexico drug war money - He asks Congress for $1.4 billion. It would be the largest U.S. aid package to Latin America since 2000.
By Hector Tobar
October 23, 2007
The White House announced Monday a $1.4-billion military and security package to assist Mexico and several Central American countries in their fight against drug-trafficking groups threatening the region's democracies.
"Democrats on Capitol Hill complained that the Bush administration drafted the proposal without consulting Congress."
"With 'Plan Mexico,' the devil will be in the details, and to this point, details are scarce," Sen. Robert Menendez (D-N.J.) said in a statement. "Dropping a $1.4-billion plan on our doorstep without much forewarning makes it harder to build a consensus and develop sound policy."
Rory's point about supply and demand is absolutely right. Americans are creating a demand and SOMEONE will create the supply. It's simple economics.
Until we stop the illegal use of drugs... we can expect to fall victim to to the violence. It's a logical consequence of our own actions.
Ha ha ha! It was the eight years under Bush and republicans that led America into [almost] becoming a third world country.
