IBM Announces more Layoffs

IBM will announce more layoffs tomorrow.  IBM has been profitable, and is going to buy Sun Microsystems, but it's the bottom line that counts.  Families and loyalties don't count anymore it seems.

IBM has been laying off people for years so this is not really new for them. My Aunt was laid off from IBM about 10 years ago. They gave her pretty much nothing for working there as long as she did.

Dow has been laying people off too....people that have worked for the company for over 20 yrs....

The layoffs are in the Services Group only. My roommate works there.

It's always sad to see layoffs, but many companies are being forced to restructure to protect their spot in the market. I doubt IBM or any other company is laying of folks due to their distain of families or loyalties... it's purely economical in today's market.
