On Wednesday, it was over 60 degrees here and the sun was shining so brightly. Of course I was in training that day, but I found myself gazing out the window and wandering off to my own little world. I was lucky because the trainer let us out a bit early, so I was able to still enjoy a good part of the day. Upon walking outside, I instinctively took a deep breath in and noticed that the smell of Spring is officially here. It smells kind of like a combination of dirt/mud and wet air. I don't know if that makes sense, but that is the only way to really describe it.
The snow in our yard has gone down so much and I can now see the rock wall that surrounds one of my flower beds. I can't wait to start digging around in my various gardens. Our 7 year old is very interested in gardening and helps me with planting things and weeding. He even has his own pair of gardening gloves and tools!! Each year we expand one of our flower beds--I have many of them and they are all wonderful. We rarely plant annuals because I just hate wasting the time and money on them since they do not return the following year.
And can I just rant about mud a little bit?? The mud here is ridiculous! I know that it is part of the process, but it is just annoying. Today I was wearing heels that sunk so deep that when I lifted my foot, my damn heel stuck in the mud! And lets not mention the dirt that gets all over my dress pants. I practically go to work looking like I've been mud wrestling! I really cannot wait to get our garage built within the next few years because once we build that, we are going to have our driveway paved. I am SOOOOO over having a dirt driveway.
Okay, I guess I will stop my rant about the good and bad of Spring. And let me just say that I am very happy Spring is here because I am all set with Winter.

Done with mud as well...lol...
Most of our state is under flood watches and warnings, though. There's mud everywhere. Just last weekend we had over 6" of snow everywhere, and drifts that were over 3 ft. Now, I think the highest drifts in our yard are about 18" or so.
I cant wait till they bloom
