how you can be so in love with someone only after 5 days of knowing them? This is how I feel when I look at my newborn, Carter.  I love watching him sleep and when he does this little smile when he is sleeping. I love it when he looks into my eyes as if he is trying to really get to know me.  I love nursing him and knowing that while I am nourishing him, we are also forming an everlasting bond.  I love rubbing my cheek against his hair because it feels so soft like baby duck down feathers.  I love the way he smells.  I love the way he curls up into a little ball when he is sleeping.  I love the way he nuzzles into my neck area when I am burping him.  I am just so in love with him and I am drinking up every second with him.  I don't know if I am cherishing him more because he is my last baby or what.  I am just loving it all.  I had to post this because I am just feeling so in awe of him.

Thank you for letting me rant...

I sure wouldn't call this a rant! I would call it a woman that knows what she loves. I love the way you describe your love for him. I cannot have children of my own but through your I can imagine.

I watched this very thing with my daughter and her son earlier this year. I also found myself wondering how I could have thought my life was so full until our little Jack Henry introduced himself to us. There is nothing like the innocent love of a child.

It's wonderful to know another mother appreciates the blessing a child brings to a home.

There is nothing quite like the feeling of a baby. It's even more indescribable when that baby is yours. And yes, it's probably a little bit because you know there are no more that are going to be "yours" as he is.
