I thought it was a funny story, sort of.
We took Kyleigh to visit our neighbor (and good friend) two doors down the street. When we walked into his house, Kyleigh looked around and then immediately started crying.
I didn't know what to do other than holding her tight. And my husband came up with the following theory for her crying:
We live in a townhouse community where the interior of the townhouses looks pretty much the same. Our neighbor is moving away, and already had the movers take away all the furniture and stuff. So his townhouse looked pretty much empty. When we took Kyleigh there, she probably thought we were taking her out on a walk. When we went into the neighbor's house, she probably thought we were just coming home and didn't realize it was someone else's house (because the stairs, the railings, and the entrance all looked the same/similar). However, all the stuff was gone. The shoe rack and the shoes were gone. The stroller was gone. The TV, furniture, and her toys were all gone. So she was frightened and therefore cried.
It must be traumatic because she has just recently parted with her grandma, who has been taking care of her for the last 15 months. And now she thought we got rid of all the stuff in the house too.
After we got home (the real home), she started to smile. Once I put her down in the living room, the first thing she did was to rush to the TV stand and check out all her Baby Einstein tapes. Then she looked relaxed. That's where I thought it was funny - It looks like those tapes are her most prized possession.

I assume that you went directly over to the other home, not taking some roundabout way to get there to be sure that Kyleigh would be confused. It's interesting that she didn't realize that it couldn't be the same house as you didn't make a U-turn on the walkway. (Or, did you - like twice?)
Anyway, that would have been one FAST moving job. Okay, I'm sure that you didn't exactly walk fast, but nonetheless...
