Just an observation...

This has happened a few times, and I've just been wondering... 

I live in an apartment complex, where there is a building directly accross from mine.  A few family moved in about 2 months ago, one woman, and one child. Assuming that the lady is the childs mother, even tho they look NOTHING like. The lady is chineese and the boy is not, and has red hair and freckles, maybe he is adopted?? no clue. Anyways, that is not the observation... haha

Every week a car pulls up with a man inside.  I'm not sure who this man is, and I don't belive that this man lives with them, because i've never seen him out and about or anything, only in the car ( at night). 

The man will wait in the car while the woman and the boy get ready to jump in.  Only, it is not that easy. The boy puts up the HUGE fight, and crys and wont get off the front step near their door. He screams, " I don't wanna go, please dont make me!" and " NooooOoOOo NooOooO" crying his eyes out.  The mother turned around to go to the steps after a few failed attemps at the " stop it & come over here" routine. 

Currently, he is crying and has been for about 10-15 mintues or so, outside, where everyoen can hear him.  (Personaly, if my child was acting up so bad, i would of brought him back inside to straighten things up, so he wouldnt disturb everyone else) anyways, he has been crying, and they still dont have him in the mans car yet. 

I do believe that the woman is going with them, because she has her jacket and everything ready to go.  

I just found it interesting that he don't ever want to get into his car and go with him.  I wonder whats up it that situation.  I'm noisy, I guess this proves that. haha.

I've made my up own situation, and why he dont want to go.  I believe that his mother and father got a divorce, and he has to go with his dad once a week for visitation, and he simply does not want to go.  But, why is she going with him if they are divorced? haha, who knows. 

The is about 8 or 9, cute kid.  I just wish he wasnt so sad!   

 

When I'm an old lady, I think that I'm going to be one of those women who look out their window shades through a crack & give out pennies for Halloween. haha

It sounds kind of creepy, to tell you the truth. The boy's reaction, not your nosiness. I'm super nosy too.

I agree with Stacie, sounds really creapy. I'm nosey too. And I'm over protective of kids. I might almost be tempted to call child protective service to have them check into it. Like Bridget said, there is a reason he doesnt want to go.

yeah, there def. is a reason why. I mean, he is now STILL crying outside, its been like a half an hour and he still wont go with him. maybe he hurts him or something, I sure hope not!

Yup today ihad a friend call CPS on someone for what she was seeing.. to protct the kids always comes first!

I'm protective of kids too, and girls/women. I dont want to see anyone get hurt. I've called the police on a few people in my time :)

Sounds strange ... either something is fishy or maybe the child has something wrong like he is autistic or something. I would poke around some more just in case something isn't on the up and up.

I acutally seen them in the clubhouse while I was at the gym one night when the mother was signing their lease. The boy was with another lady, assuming it was his grandma, and he seemed fine, not at all autistic & I've seen calm and not so calm autistic boys, and he seemed pretty 'normal' for what 'normal' is worth.

I'll def. be doing some more snooping about this! haha

OMG, so get this! The woman puts the child in the car, and lets the man drive off.. Mean while the boy is SCREAMING NOOOO NOOOOO like, on the top of his lungs. and she puts him in the car, and he leaves. She didnt go with him!! She went back inside, without him!

Fuck that!! I'd not let my kid go in someones car that they were THAT upset about going in. There is a reason, and I dont like it!

LOL. I constantly peek out the window too. Sounds wierd. Seems like she wouldn't force him to see his father. Keep us updated if you figure out something to add to the story lol.

It does sound like something's horribly wrong.

I remember when my mom and stepdad split, my baby sister always hated going with him and would scream and carry on, but then, she was two. They sent me with her for a while to try to help make the transition easier on her, maybe that's why the mom is trying to go.

I know, she just left her apatment, wonder where she is going. haha, I'd think that if the boy was visiting with dad, that he'd go on friday night, not Wed night..so, that way his school routine stays the same. I guess not.

My guess is visitation too, but if hes crying so bad he doesnt want to go then there is probably good reason, and I got a good laugh out of the old lady penny comment that will be me too haha

That's really weird. I would never put my child in a car if he was screaming like that (well maybe my OWN car if he was throwing a fit because he wanted to stay at the park or something). That is definitely weird that she would do this time after time. Especially since he's that big. If he's crying like that, there is definitely something wrong.

My toddler might cry like that if I put him in a car with someone else, but that's because of separation anxiety. An 8 or 9 year old should be past that stage.

I think there is some kind of abuse going on here or a child would not react like that. I don't think that woman is the kid's mother either. Who ever heard of a Chinese adopting a white kid? Red hair to boot. What does the man look like? No this child is fearful by your description of things....plus it is at night. He could be a missing child. Maybe child services should check it out.

He is probably a foster child that has to go on visits. I see that kind of thing all the time.

Based on my own life, I would say this sounds like the parents are divorced, and that he doesn't want to go. Maybe the mom goes because the parents are trying to be civilized for the kid. It sounds like a sad situation, I never wanted to go see my dad.

Laurie says that I'm overreacting. ( 2 rs or 1?) lol anyway. She thinks that maybe he is going to the dentist or something, and is just being a cry baby... never know she says.

the man is tall, not sure what color hair he has, i've only seen him at night trying to talk to the boy in the court....

That does sound funky. I do that too, watch the neighbors. It is the one bummer that we live in a house....fewer neighbors!

But then sometimes I still hear too much. Our patio backs up the our neighbors wall where their bathroom is. You know that little window that bathrooms have?? No, I am not going to get gross. We were out there one day, enjoying the sun and heard the guy talking baby talk to his girlfriend while he was in the bathroom!

I was trying so hard not to laugh, loudly! I finally had to go inside and bust out!

Personally I would call the police. I would rather be safe than sorry. Just let them know what you've observed and they can come and check it out.
