Do you ever?

When you post something, anything do you ever just post to one group or just scroll down to where you know there is a cluster of groups you can post too just to get your article or whatever on for people to see.

Today I posted quite a few photos but I didn't want to mess with posting to certain groups after a while so I just went down to all the point groups and posted them there.

I get sick of scrolling through so many groups.  I'm almost to the point to where I only want to post to myself but that wouldnt' get me any points or friends.

What do you think or do?

I get tired of looking for the groups
so I will post to some& then give up
it takes so long to choose them since they did the upgrade
I do a lot of them that are grouped together
unless it is a specific article that fits in specific groups - like: Going Green, or Plastic Surgery
both of which are my groups by the way!

I understand. I do the same thing about my groups. I do try to make sure I'm not posting to something that it doesn't make since to post in. I don't like when people post to mine when they don't go there so I try not to do it myself.

I think you should pare down the amount of groups you belong to, it keeps things MUCH more manageable. Just keep the ones where the group owners actually participate!

it depends on what I'm posting but I try to post to as many groups as possible cause I like the points

Sometimes I think it doesnt make a big difference one way or another. As long as your friends or everyone is allowed to view it I doubt it does. I have a private family group I post things to all by itself. Family photos, news, etc.

I usually post to any group that says things like "Post it Here" or "Point Parlor"...but my question is, are we wasting time? I never go to any of these groups and take a look, I just post to them. I know we all see each others articles as they post in our individual page in the article section. The only groups I usually look at are ones with specific meaning like "first time mothers" but even then there is hardly anything new posted to those groups. Anyway, it does take a bunch of time put I do post to them for the most part as I don't have a bunch yet.

I hate the new way to select groups, I really wish you could group them!!!
I typically just check out stuff on my homepage like you mentioned Michelle.
I do try super hard to never post to the wrong groups. SO I don't just blindly click away. I choose each group I post to.
When I get to the ones that start with the word "points" I can click like 20 times without looking, cuz they are all about getting points.

First, I think that's part of the reason Gather did the drop down menus. Perhaps it will take more time for game posters to post games so less games will get posted. Don't think it did anything, but .... maybe I'm wrong and they thought it would be a good improvement, but I think it's only slowed things down.

Second, I'm too big of a perfectionist / overachiever to let go of an opportunity to get my words out to anyone interested by just posting to everyone or all the points groups. If my work is valuable and/or helpful, I want to get that info to those who can use it. So, yes, I take the time to get my articles to groups where it will be appreciated and commented on.

I have found that if I get to a clump of groups, I can click the mouse a dozen times or so and wait for gather to catchup. As several people said, I think Gather is trying to make it harder to splat a lot of groups at one time.

If I am posting my fiction, i choose groups carefully, or even go to the group and email from there.

I don't mind picking and choosing, I have made mistakes on the way. I really don't have anything critical to say about the posting procedure. Keep on going ;-0

Hey I just scroll through and click on whatever and if Gather
doesn't want you there they just take you out!! I don't like
this new way it's a pain right in the buttinski! So Like I said
go click, click, click!

i don't post to all groups but i do go through and click when there is a cluster together that would fit the topic. i wish there was a way to sort the groups so we could just click a category of groups
I actually go through my groups.
