Today in the mail we received a postcard from the people at Fluxx Games. You see, Zombie Fluxx is coming! Fluxx is this cool card game where the rules change almost every time someone plays a card. This game is a big hit with my friends! If you like strategy games, this will drive you nuts! (Yes, that is a slight cackle you hear coming from me!) I love watching my very logical and meticulous scientific friends squirm trying to strategize during Fluxx, because you simply cannot!
Coming back to my original news, a new game is coming out in early October called Zombie Fluxx. When we were at GenCon, the gaming convention in Indianapolis, Indiana in August, Scott (my husband) had the great fortune of meeting Andy Looney, the game designer of Fluxx, and one of the creators of Looney Labs (the company that puts the games out). We got to pick up some special cards to add to our decks including one that is only usable if it has Andy's signature on it (which we have now).
I don't know why I like Zombies. They seem rather dull, boring, and kind of terrifying, and yet mysterious. I guess it's the curiousity about what makes them tick. That curiousity is what gets me in trouble all of the time!

Three Alarm Tenant Chapter 2
We play Fluxx whenever we're getting together - it's one of two games we play to pass the time while people show up. The nice thing is, anyone can join the game halfway through. And each game of it is rather short.
No, you don't have to understand gaming or strategy to get Fluxx - but it's fun. And there is SOME strategy... just not much.
