Do you wonder why people post so many Gather Games?
It's really no secret, if you think about it.
There are the "Copyright Police" that flag things they don't like. Articles that are "like" other articles. Granted some articles are complete copies and warrant being flagged but just because you don't like it or it's "like" something else you have read, don't mean it's a violation.
There are the Gather Points. Why put your heart and soul in a long article that few people will read or flag? It's so much easier to post a simple game and get a couple points then a long article and nothing.
There are the Unhappy People. People that will do whatever it takes to make people on Gather feel stupid or dumb. Why bother to write a well thought out article when someone is going to make you feel horrible for it.
There is Gossip. Hey, it sells news papers. So if something horrible happens to you, why not cash in on it. Add in a little drama to make it interesting and people will read and comment.
There are more games being posted everyday. They are posted because they are "safe". It's a safe post that won't be flagged, beat to death and in the end, it will bring in points.
If you don't like the games, don't play them. Go read and comment on some of the few well thought out and put together articles on Gather. Maybe when those start gaining attention, some of the games will stop being posted. Maybe if we start paying attention to the good articles read, more people will post those.
We "teach people how to treat us". Fellow Gather'ers, we have taught the people on Gather what works and they are just doing it. If you don't want the games, then change it. Low rating and mean comments won't change a thing. "Kill 'em with kindness" it works.

to many people in life in some shape or form brings us down, whether it be cutting us off on the road, bumpin us in a crowd and not saying excuse me or whathaveyou..why do it online to ya know...
to those people who put people down for empiting their souls, this message is to you...
UPAYOURAZZ,HEHE
but seriously people,Sarais right, kindness does work even though we get bit in the ass at times.i did so far,lol
good article Sara
p.s.s the gather gods flag things that there is no need for flagging..therefore,the aove message applies to them to,lol
I didn't flag it. I outted you in the article and let you know that you were violating gathers TOS. You could have explained yourself in it. But it's probably a good thing you deleted it.
Take care and have fun point out other like articles. Maybe there is one like this somewhere on the whole internet. How wonderful!
When I write articles, I know mine are short. Getting a long one out there just isn't something I am very good at. It seems though that people will read a shorter article. It just won't get as many comments as a game.
As you say, if the games don't interest you, don't play them, but try to understand a possible motive besides the negative one. They are obvious, the positive ones aren't
I think this line sums up the main reason. I have always said there is room for a bit of this and a bit of that. It is also possible to be here, and write articles and not get flagged. I don't want to jinx myself, but I've been here over a year and never been flagged, had some DB1's (don't care) and I have only flagged one article that was blatent spamming for a make money quick scheme. I think the games where you actually have to think for at least a few seconds can be fun, but I think we lost something when we started having the "do you like red or blue" or "ketchup or mustard?"
But I am no writer nor artist....
I started my games to give people a little
more fun activity,,, then there was an explosion of games, I can't even believe how they just popped up everywhere... I started a mania--again,,,oh it's time see ya
Have a nice evening. :0)
PS: I totally agree re: you article about not divulging one's location or kid's names. But being a person in the public eye, I guarded by several means...wherever I am.
Thank you, best wishes,
