Noel, my NoNo, thinks I'm her jumping off point or trampoline...and I have the scars to prove it. NoNo is my black persian cat who allows me to live with her here in her home...I'm just the guy who feeds her and occasionally is a good place to lay in my lap to sleep or groom herself.
If I can't find her the best places to look are in boxes which just happen to be open, even if you wouldn't expect to find her in such a small box. Just look in there and sure enough you will see two eyes looking back out of the darkened interior of the box, usually the darker area is where you will see those shiny eyes...if not in a box then on top of my bookcases in the livingroom.
To be so small she sure does land hard when she lands on you from on top of the book case. That happens of course whenever you drift off to sleep in the Lazy Boy in front of the TV watching Animal Planet or NGC etc. Rude awakening for sure, and painful too...will not say exactly where these lands hit but if you are male you probably can figure where.
She shows her displeasure when I leave to go shopping leaving her all alone for several hours. She talks to me complaining that I didn't think of her feelings when off I went without asking her permission. Then tells me she wishes to be fed now not later. Is some what like having a wife other than there isn't anyway of telling her I'm sorry other than to feed her. She just doesn't understand why I have to go any where other than be there for her to land on when she jumps down from the bookcase or on her way through the livingroom to the kitchen to eat or use the sandbox. She speeds through and over me in both directions even if she has to detour to do so.
When I have to get up from the chair to do anything if she is laying in my lap she shows her displeasure by talking to me to say "Hey, I was sleeping here buddy, no need to wake me or move until I was ready to move." Some times even following me to express her displeasure even more that I was supposed to remain seated, or getting in front of me stopping to show that she is in control of what happens in her house.
NoNo reminds me of why I live alone. No one else probably could live with me other than her, am too long living alone. Other than my children (four who I raised alone) for most of my life I have lived alone. Is sometimes even hard to live with my crazy little owner, but she puts up with her human slave even when those size fourteens can't stop soon enough not to give her little furry behind a slight boot when she stops short so quickly.
When I recline the LazyBoy she walks up my chest looks me in the eye and says "Hey, Buddy Boy, you are supposed to be scratching me behind the ears not going to sleep." She then sits down on my chest and unless I move lays down butting her head against my chin until I do scratch her in the way she wants. At least she does reward me with her purr of approval at doing what she wants.
So guess she will keep me on for a few more days as her human slave as long as she gets what she wants. As such I accept my place in life and serve my owner with loyalty and devotion, what else can you do. Who wants to be kicked out in the cold cruel streets? So until the next meowed command guess I will take a nap, who knows what will be demanded of me next...

Check out my cat sonnets on Gather.
Noel is, just a loving cat that lets her master
be at her beck and call!! This certainly was so
different from other articles I have read James.
I found it to be quite entertaining, a great read.
Thank you for sharing your story with us here
on Gather. Looking forward to reading more.
