I needed to take him some papers I’d printed out that he needed to take to church with him that night.
Just as an afterthought I brought along my camera.
He’d told me on the phone that they didn’t have anything blooming worth seeing yet. The last frost in April really hurt their rose bushes.
I AM SO GLAD I BROUGHT MY CAMERA.
I was feeling low (I’m a type 1 diabetic) and it seemed like I couldn’t hold my camera steady. All the way home I was thinking, that was a waste of time, I’m low, I couldn’t stop shaking so all my pics are going to be crud.
I’m so glad that I went, took pics and took the time to check them out instead of just erasing them all!!
My brother's yard was in beautiful bloom!
From clover (I know it's a weed but it was pretty):

to rosebuds:

to red roses:

and white roses:

to glorious pink 'I don't know what they are but I like them!'

and more pink:

and more pink:

and even more pink:

to lavendar iris:

and more iris:

and even more iris:

to the little pink bells that fascinated me even though the pic isn't as good as the others:

I am so happy there are flowers to take pics of again!
I'd been rather flower envious on gather.com because I've seen so many beautiful pictures of flowers and was sure we didn't have any good ones here in Springfield MO yet.
I'm so glad I was wrong :)
I had felt bad I didn't have my macro lens with me, I was carrying my lighter camera bag instead of the one with everything in it.
I think the zoom lens did fine!

I'm glad you liked them.
When his whole garden is blooming I should do another photo essay.
My brother used to have 500 rose bushes and be the president of our local rose society. He loves his flowers. Recently he's backed off and has less, the last time I asked it was 300, could be less now. He puts in a lot more vegetables now too.
He has more than an acre in his back yard including a tiny woods in the city, so it is fun to wander thru his back yard.
thanks for asking!
