Today I was out in the garden, pulling some of the Kale for my youngest son to take to his rabbit. We don't have a real big garden but it don't have to be very big to grow a lot of things. Last spring we planted all kinds of things. Some did better than others. I planted my first winter garden last year too. I planted some carrots, kale, mustard greens and turnip greens. The carrots...well they didn't do very well at all. We did get 3 carrots. The mustard and turnip greens did really well. I remember about 5 days after we planted, one of the horses got in the garden. That's why the carrots didn't do very well. Oh it's ok, I don't worry too much about things like that. That's what keeps us all going around here. LOL
I am really thinking this year about making the garden a little bigger. Actually, I am going to make it bigger. I have a few ideas about planting in a few different areas.
One thing that really helps us with our garden is our soil. We have 3 horses. Yeah, you know where I'm going with this. I love the rich soil that they give us. All we have to do is scoop it and pile it up. Within a few months, the pile is ready to be used. It sure makes the plants grow and the best part is the weeding. We don't have very many weeds grow in the garden.
Do you garden?
