Birthday and Anniversary List for Paying it Forward List Members.
I had wanted to help Sonia with the Paying it Forward group, but upon further reflection, I decided that I wanted to take the Birthday and Anniversary thing a step further and extend it to the ENTIRE Gather community instead of just limiting it to one group. So, I have created a new group, called It's Your Day, where the them is called Celebrate. The idea behind the group is that every day should be someone's day to celebrate, right?Here's the welcome you will see upon entering the group:
Hi all, and Welcome to It's your Day! Hopefully, we will be celebrating someone's special day every day here in our group!
There is but one rule in this group - and it is moderated - I only accept posts (or articles if that's what you prefer to call them), photos or videos of special days. By that, I mean you may only post of special occasions such as birthdays, wedding anniversaries, Gather anniversaries, and Federally recognized holidays. This is a family oriented group, so no adult photos or videos please, no violence please, and please no foul language.
Here is how the group will work. I will be sending out a post Gather wide letting everyone know the group is open for membership. You will post your name, your date of birth (year optional), your wedding anniversary (year optional) and your Gather anniversary in the comment field in order to sign up on the list. Once a month (on the first, I hope), I will send out an email to every member on the list with that month's special days. I will also be sending out daily email reminders. What you do with that list is up to you. You can ping people on their special days, you can shower them with comments, you can even make new connections. It's really up to you how you use that list. We just want to Celebrate!
