An Amber Alert h
as been issued for a 6-week-old boy whose mother, a known drug user, left with him Monday morning and has not been seen since.
According to family members, 30-year-old Sonia Diane Quintanilla left Needville about 9:30 a.m. in a blue 1989 4-door Chevrolet Cavalier with license plate Z84-CFV to take her infant son, Elijah Ray Farris, to the doctor.
Authorities say Sonia has a history of using drugs and leaving for shorts periods of time. The family is extremely concerned for the infant's safety particularly since it does not appear that Sonia took food, clothing, or diapers for Elijah.
She is believed to be in northeast Houston, near Tidwell and the Eastex Freeway, authorities said.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Elijah or Quintanilla is asked to contact the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office at 281-341-4665 or 281-341-4686.
This group is not intended to start a debate as to whether a suspect has a right to abduct their own child. It is also not a group to debate whether a person's medical history is, or is not, a pertinent to the case. This group is to report Amber Alerts, which are issued when a child is kidnapped.
