The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians has issued an Amber Alert for a missing Cherokee teen.
Derrick Taylor, a 14-year-old American Indian male, is described as being 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing 124 pounds. He has green eyes, brown-blond hair and light complexion. He was last seen wearing a green hat with a black zip-up jacket, a green shirt, blue jeans and green shoes.
Derrick was last known to be at Elo Hill Community Center playing basketball. He was approached by two white males who beat him up and threw him in the back of a gold colored vehicle.
Derrick was able to make cell phone contact with the Cherokee Tribal Police. He stated that he is locked in a shed but he does not know where he was taken. Derrick believes that he was driven approximately five to 10 minutes from Elo Hill Center and was traveling on Aequoni Road. If seen contact police immediately.
