Cincinnati Ohio has a team of "superheros" patrolling the streets.
No, I'm not kidding.
These kids are either going to make a genuine hero of themselves... or they're going to get themselves killed. So far, they've got the hero part down pretty well, though of course at least one, the more active-looking of the bunch, has been injured. It sounds like he's managed to avoid getting shot, but I am wondering how long that luck will continue.
Their intentions seem to be really good, and they are helping out some folks in small ways. Feeding the homeless is a great cause, though the execution of the idea is a really odd. I suppose working in a soup kitchen wouldn't allow the group to reach those who don't trust institutions and won't go to shelters, food banks, and soup kitchens for help. Fighting crime is a bit more sketchy. This is kind of like neighborhood watch meets trick-or-treat. Whether the locals take them seriously or not (ok, mostly not) these guys (and a gal) mean business... so much so that their leader, the Shadow Hare, has been injured in the course of defending a citizen against an assailant.
Why does the movie Mystery Men come to mind here?
But wait... there's more:
This one follows the group a bit more. You get to hear a little from Shadow Hare
Of course, not everyone takes them seriously... well, most people don't. This guy seems to be having fun with the idea.
Still, can a guy with his own theme song be wrong?
So... I'm supermom. My special power is hitting people on the butt with a wooden spoon, and making sure citizens eat all of their veg... hey, get back here, young man! I'm talking to you!
*sigh*
