Taking the Stairs, And Other Good Ideas

I confess, I am one of those oddballs who usually takes the stairs, anyway. Of course, I'll probably have to quit doing that as I get older... some of them are heavy, and hard to carry. Besides, I think people are catching on to the huge stair collection I've been amassing on my back patio.
Seriously, though, I don't like the sensation of passive motion. I get motion sickness. Because of that, I don't like elevators or escalators, and I prefer to avoid them.
Even if I weren't prone to choosing the stairs over more passive means of ascending and descending floors at the mall, I could easily be persuaded to use the stairs shown in the video below. Thefuntheory.com also had a video about making it fun to throw away your trash. This turned out to be just as productive as the stairs. This one's funnier... people keep looking into the trash can to see where the noise originates!

There seems to be a contest associated with this, sponsored by Volkswagon. The prize is in Euros, but it says the contest is open to all. I haven't come up with any ideas (yet), but it looks like an interesting contest, and I bet they'll get a ton of entries.
The site says the contest is running from October 1 to December 15, but it also says a winner will be announced on December 15. I am not sure if this means there is an earlier deadline, but I don't see one stated on the page. Anyway, after seeing it, I thought it was interesting enough to share, so there it is.
