Angela fell down the stairs about an hour ago, and I'm pretty sure her foot is broken. If it's not broken, then she's got pulled tendons. We got her in the truck to go to ready care, just to get there as they closed. We weren't allowed in.....I tried the adult minor emergency place also, but they closed at 9 pm too. Our insurance doesn't consider broken bones like this emergencies, so we can't go to the ER (if we want it covered). That means Angela will have to wait until morning. I hate to do that to her, but we can't afford the ER if it's not going to be covered....plus, they can't put a cast on it until the swelling goes down some anyway. As soon at the minor emergency ER opens up, we'll be there....
This is just NOT how I wanted to spend my Christmas....but apparently it's not Christmas unless someone at our house has something broken. I just want the whole season over....

I wish I could be of some help to give you some comfort. Question: Does your isurance pay for ER due to pain? MAybe the doctor could write it up as severe pain. Just a thought.

I hate to go the ER. I ended up going with the last kidney stone I had and we still haven't gotten that bill paid off. Even with insurance the bills are too high. I now refuse to go to the ER for anything that has to do with me. I mean if the kids were hurt somehow I would take them if it needed to be done that way, but I now refuse to go for myself. I will suffer here at home.
