Yes, I'd read that she is being revered as the reincarnation of a god in India, and that both mouths, sets of eyes, etc., are all functioning. The father is refusing health tests, which I find kind of sad. There could be things which might cause her serious future problems that could be addressed. It would be sad if she dies from a complication that could have been avoided with tests...

Baby was born at Tuesday, March 11, 2008.... in Saini Sunpura(a northern Indian village), 50 kilometers (31 miles) east of New Delhi, India

This baby is a girl named Lali.

The newborn girl is seen as an incarnation of God, and people are making offerings and asking for the baby's blessing.

The doctor who delivered the girl said she and her mother are healthy and doing well.

This event raises some questions. Does God make mistakes? Is this a part of nature, or is nature imperfect? Is this against nature? Should man work toward preventing these occurrences? How should we deal with this sort of thing?

'Lali' is a hindi word, which means, redness. For example, redness of the rosy cheeks.

Kelldogg, I agree with you up to some extent but won't count it as good for being a Goddess. Especially in India. The are where she is born is one of the remote areas in India, which is raising lots of concern in my mind about that girl.

1. Parents and the people in that village could be illiterate (or not but doubt at it). This will cause them to believe what their leader says. In result she could become victim of political disputes or God knows what.

2. She has already got caught in religious ties. Where religion comes people gets blind towards science. It could cause doctors lot of trouble with he future health and wellness. Lisa has already raised this issue.

3. She is no longer able to live a normal life not only because she has extra body parts but also she is getting so much attention because of that.

4. There could be other health issues. People in India, who are considering her Goddess are touching her feet to get her blessings. They might pass on their germs or diseases to her.

5. I had read other forums regarding this. All those comments are giving me shivers and bringing lots of issues in front of me. Now I am getting afraid of being and Indian living here. Just Google this topic and see what people are saying in other forums.

I heard about this and saw a picture as well.

I think that none of us can have any idea of the difficulties -- and (hopefully) blessings -- this child and family will have to deal with.
I have no working knowledge of this kind of deformity, and we are talking about a deformity.
I have no idea if this is something a person can live with or if this will ultimately end this child's life.
We really don't know anything about this condition, do we?

I don't believe this baby is a goddess, but she will have a difficult life. Both of her faces are very pretty and look identical. Human genetics is a fascinating subject.

She is a beautiful child. My heart goes out to her with all the difficulties she may face in the future. I hope the parents will seek medical attention to be certain their are no complications caused by her condition.

i hate to be painfully blunt, but i think it's idiotic a deformed baby is being worshipped as a god.

well may the forces of good be kind to her and protect her from any thoughtless idiots. at least she was born in a country where unusual things are revered.

I think this is a rare and unique situation, it is good for her to be in the country she is.

I think she is beautiful. I read that her doctor does not feel that testing is necessary at this time because she is behaving normally... at that age, testing can often be dangerous and traumatic, so it is good that the family is listening to the doctor and waiting.
Hopefully she will continue to stay healthy.

Wow, thats so sad. But, I believe it's true. The health care isn't exactly the same as in our country and I'm sure test and other things aren't ran, and sonnograms if done aren't exactly the same. Nature makes mistakes....hence tornado's and the damage, people having horrible health circumstances. I guess it's good though that she's not in the country and in India. They see her as a god.It's unfortunate though that she'll be held to an even higher standard as she grows.Hopefully her health will hold up.

Pamela, personally, I haven't heard much about this condition either. I am wondering the same things as you are. I am sure this will become another news if she will face something serious in future.

This does raise several questions, Tinch. For some we can only wait and see what will happen in future. But my personal answer for your 3rd question will be 'it will be better to be treated as Goddess than a freak'.. as long as... she will get all the care she should get as a normal baby with some complications should.

I did read about Dionne quintuplets after you pointing towards it. All I can say that their story is really very sad. I am afraid that there are some possibilities that Lali might end up getting abused like that or may be not... We can only sit back and see what will happen in future.

We can make a cherity group in her name to raise the money for her for her future well being.
