About an hour ago while I was making my 20 month old's bottle for bed, he ran out into the kitchen, I heard him slip and then he cried the loudest I've heard him since his circumcision at 3 days old. I picked him up and saw blood all over his face! Not only did he have a bloody nose, but his tooth/teeth went into his upper lip. Poor little guy... the cut isn't deep enough to require stitches, but it sure did make me sick to my stomach. I had to put the little guy to bed with a big ol' fat lip! Have your kids had any injuries that made you sick to your stomach? Faith

The part that makes this even worse right now is that I pulled a muscle or pinched a nerve in my neck right after I got up this morning and I've been unable to move my neck all day.
It's always hard when they're bleeding. My son took a nosedive off the changing table a few months ago and landed on the air purifier. He ended up with a cut on his nose that wouldn't stop bleeding for what seemed like forever, and a bloody nose.
Hope your little guy is ok!
Matthew split his chin open and had to have it superglued. Another time, he had been to the dentist and his mouth was numb and he didn't realize he bit the inside of his cheek REALLY bad. He had to have a couple of stitches in it. I came really close to passing out with that one.
I can oooohhh and aaawww over anyone's blood and guts, but when it comes to my boys....NO CAN DO!!!!
I'm usually ok in the midst of the crisis, but then as soon as we get out of the middle of it, I get all faint and break up.
The first time my daughter left me to babysit my grand-daughter. She tripped, fell, it her face on the end table and got a black eye! It terrified me! I know the feeling if your stomach churning, your heart beating so hard it feels like it is going to jump right of your chest!!
My daughter returned from school and couldn't understand why I didn't call her home! I told her that I called the doctor, and they said that she should be fine. She was thank God!
My son fell down the stairs when he was younger. It was so scary. I caught him by his diaper, but I just ripped it off him, and he fell down about 6 stairs. He was fine, and I think I was more upset with him. My husband said he didn't know he was crying harder. We took him to the doctor to make sure everything was ok, and the doctor said he was surprised that he didn't even end up with a tiny scratch or any bruising or anything. He's a tough kid!
Since then, he has received several other minor injuries, because he is such a little daredevil. He loves climbing on things, and has since he was about 7 months old or so. He climbed up on his chest of drawers and nosedived off when he was 18 months old. He had a bump on his forehead, but otherwise he was fine. He's jumped off of multiple different things, like the back of the couch, chairs, shelves, anywhere he can climb. No wonder I'm dealing with so many new health problems! He is making me go crazy. :)
I remember once when she was about 5 how she fell off the bed and saved herself with a forward roll. I joked at the time that the training was paying off.
I feel sorry for your little guy. These things happen, Faith. Hope he heals soon.
My oldest daughter was playing around and slipped and fell and her top teeth went into her bottom lip and it freaked my and my husband out! We didn't take her to the ER right away but it was getting infected because it was smelling so we took her to the doctor and they gave her a shot of antibiotics and it healed right away.
I'm sorry again, it's not fun when your children get hurt, hugs for him and you!
The other two had their share of stuff also.
My older relatives always told me that it is amazing that they survive childhood.
Blessing to you and your family Faith.
Another time my middle son somehow cut his baby toe almost off. All they did was super glue it together and sdaid stay off the foot. I still don't know how that happen and his teen brother stilll won't confess.
Probably the hardest time for me was when my daughter hit her forehead on some stairs. Head wounds ... well you know. She was fine after a few stitches, but her mother took a little longer to recover. LOL!
No! Seriously, it happens. When Klayten was just a little younger than Rylan, and hadn't been walking long,, he slipped on our tile and fell face first. He was holding a hot wheels when he fell, and by the time I jumped off the couch to grap him, he already had a goose egg on his forehead that was the perfect imprinted of that car and stood out about an inch an half. Scared the heck out of me! Of course, he's my accident prone child, and after the sixth set of stitches I've mellowed alot! :-)
Yikes !!!
I know I have many more years of this, my kids are only 9 and 7.
Hope things are better with your baby. Hope you both got a little rest.
My parents called me at work when my oldest was about 1 1/2 he was running through the house fell and hit his mouth on the bottom pat of the kitchen counter, its pretty sharp. He wouldnt let them look at it so I come rushing over, I grabbed him up flipped his lip up, looked at the inside cut, and checked his teeth. Everything was fine there, then I checked out the dripping blood from his top lip on the outside. We put liquid bandage on it. The next day while I was at work he riped it off and it was fine. Hes got a scar from it, but I think if he would had had stitches it would have been a nastier scar.
the worst accident i recall my son having when a toddler was at a park....a friend from work and i were sitting on a bench while my son ran around the playground...i kept glancing his direction while talking...in between glances he managed to climb a tall slide and i caught a glimpse of him falling from the top of the ladder....i have never ran that fast in all of my life...a guy who turned out to be a dentist reached him first... i feared he had a broken neck,or limbs, but a quick visit to the doc confirmed he was ok...i felt sick to my stomach,so i can relate to how you felt about Rylan's accident...
hugs to ya both....gayle
My 5 year old lost a fingernail to a slammed door when she was 2 1/2 or so.
The same daughter also knocked her head sooo hard. There was a lump in it where cartiledge built up but it was not fractured. It was like she had a kilngon forehead with the ridge down the middle for a couple months.
I am sure that yours will give you many other turned stomaches. When my daughter lost her fingernail it almost made me pass out. I won't got into details there... yuck.
The upset tummy was probebly from swallowing blood from his nose and lip... when kids are sensitive to it, it will most likely happen after every bloody nose or lip, so watch for it.
The first time he was climbing a little tykes slide and underneath was a bees nest. No one knew and he got stung by 5 bees. We went to the ER it was terrible. It broke my heart. The next incident my son stole q tips when he was 2. He got them and ran with it in his ear. He jammed it in his ear and there was blood everywhere. Oh my god I was horrified back to the ER he was fine, no permanent injuries but scared the death out of me. Q TIPS are still taboo in my house and are on the high shelf!!!
The last incident was when he was almost 3. He thought he was WONDER BOY he jumped off my couch BOUNCED off my speaker and cracked his noggin. I was in my pajamas, my husband was at school, my friend 2 houses down drove us to the ER in her jammies. It was horrendous. They glued his head together luckily it was not a jagged cut. I was freaking out because you know... blood gets to you especially when its your childs!
THANK GOD we have had no more trips to the ER , I chalk it up to terrible 2's ( although the bees could have happened to anyone)
Its tough when you see your baby hurt!
we put our coffee table away for years because of the kids...when the oldest daughter was 6 and the youngest 4, we brought it out...the very next day, the oldest daughter went running through the house, tripped and hit her face on the coffeetable (good thing it had rounded edges)...the next day we left for a week at the beach (where nobody knew us and we were out in public all the time)...her eye was black and blue and bloodshot...we worried someone was going to arrest us!
