The Kids' Reactions to the Stockings!

A lot of people asked me to post how the kids reacted to the way wewere telling them I am pregnant.  I have posted it in a responsecomment in the original article and I am reposting it here aswell.    It was really sweet.  We videotaped thewhole thing but the video file is too large, it won't let me post it onGather.  I love the video though.  I am looking forward tosharing it with them again when they are older!

 Here is how the kids reacted to the extra stocking with the letter in it..........

Drake(9)and Lily(6) noticed the stocking right away and said"Who is that for?" I said "I don't know, bring it here" so Drakebrought itto me and I pulled out the letter ( we had made two copies) I said "Itis addressed to you and Lily they are the same why don't you read itout loud Drake" I gave one to each kid and then Drake started readingthe letter. Lily's face lit upinstantly and she was really excited clapping her hands quietly andexcitedly listening as Drake continued to read. She was bursting withexcitement and joy as he read on, more focused on reading, then on WHAThe was reading. 

Hefinally got it when heread the part "oh by the way tell your Mom and Dad they are pregnant,"And he gasped and dropped the letter smiling and grinning, thenfinished reading while laughing. Both kids hugged us and were reallyhappy for us. They hugged each other too and were giggling andlaughing.  It set the tone for the whole day.  Then theentire rest of the day they told people on the phone and the cousins inperson "MY MOM is having a BABY!"  Lily all day was so cute, Ithought she would be jealousor upset and sulk for part of the day but she wasn't at all. She wasvery loving and helpful and it was sooo cute she kept coming over andpatting my belly saying, " Mommy, I think you and the baby (sometimesshe said babies) need to sit down and rest for a while now." She wasalso afraid to sit in my lap cause she didn't wanna squish the baby butI pulled her into my lap anyways and told her it would be fine!!!

Matt'sGrandpa was so happy when we told him he got tears in his eyes. He saidanother great grandbaby was the most wonderful gift! He is a sweet man,I am glad to have made him so happy. Matt's whole family was happy withthe news. My family was happy and excited too!!! One of the littlecousins also asked me if I was having twins (out of the mouth of babesLOL) it is way too soon to tell of course but I will keep everyoneposted!

Lily was really cute this morning too. The kids areout of school still so Matt took off work to stay home with them. I wasleaving for work and as I walked past her room I heard "MOMMY" so Iwent in and kissed her and asked her "Baby, what is wrong?" still halfasleep she mumbled, "It is too early, you and the baby need more sleep.Hurry back to bed now because it is almost morning and you don't havemuch time" That made me laugh. I patted her head, stroking her hair afew minutes and told her "baby why don't you get some sleep for us, wegotta go to work now!!" she said "ok" and was unconscious again beforeI even got up from the bed. It was really adorable! I am so blessedwith beautiful wonderful children and a wonderful husband. MY life isin a really good place right now, and for that I am thankful!

Iam so happy to have such a loving and supportive family, extendedfamily, and group of friends to be here for me through this emotionaland exciting (yet slightly scary) time!!!!!
