How many of you believe....

it only takes a spark to get a wild fire going so who knows

I hate to sound just as cynical; but I had the same thoughts. I know very little about forensics related to fires. Nevertheless, it seems like quite the rush to judgment.

What most people don't get is that these wildfires are such a huge problem because there is so much brush and vegetation that has grown out of control. Fires are a part of nature. We have been so anti-natural fires, that when there are fires, they get out of control. So, it is not this one boy's fault.

I don't know the whole story, so I can't take sides. Did they find some evidence that this boy started the fires or is it just a hunch?

I wouldn't be surprised if it were true~ sorry.

The fires here in Arizona in 2002 were started by a freaking firefighter in the hopes of getting a job!!! The following is from Wikipedia......

He told investigators he had set two fires that morning (the first was quickly put out) in hopes of getting hired by the federal Bureau of Indian Affairs for a quick-response fire crew. I don't believe it was the boy either Donna, but he will be badgered into saying what ever they want! Kids can't handle themselves in a situation as this and they know this fact, so it won't be hard to change anything he says.

fires can start in so many ways. California is so dry that all someone has to do is put their eyeglasses down for a minute and let the sun shine thru to create hear for fire. This island burned in fortyseven. We live on a big rock. not a whole lot of topsoil, however, the woods have created peat moss. sometimes a fire can travel for miles before it finds an opening where it bursts up and a tree will suddenly burst into flame. What isn't seen is that the entire underground is on fire at the same time. Thus the fire was out of control long before it ever noticed. two thirds of Mount Desert Island burned. Kids do start fires. I know people who as kids, burned down the barn, started field fires etc. I don't know the facts. But to blame a kid for something that is so much bigger than himself will ruin this child forever. Also, with the pyros in my childhood, the fires didn't get too out of control before it was noticed. I don't know. Fires are also a natural disaster. Perhaps they should blame him for the hurricanes Katrina and Rita while they are at it.

I don't remember what the official conclusions were.

Wild fires are sad.... All the animals and wild life that is burnt up.. Sad
