I am so excited to be posting this article. It is a photo essay of my son but please stick around and check it out.
It all started out when my neighbor hood had a trash clean up day. If you have never heard of this it is where people throw away tv's, grills, vcrs, yard toys, and anything else you can think of. Now I am not poor or anything but I am not rich either so when we have trash day I tend to look and see what I can find for free. The event is yearly so in the past I have gotten things like my big screen tv, and yes it works, my entertainment stand, and various small items. But this year I found the cutest little fire truck for my son. I was hesitant to get it being that he is only nine months and he just learned to sit up a month ago but I did go ahead and grab it.
Here is my son sitting on his fire truck...................
He was unsure at first but after I started pushing him around he became proud to be riding on such a niffty toy.
Here he is proud as can be..........
After pushing him around the house for twenty minutes I decided that it was time to quit. He was not having any of that. He became extremly mad, (temper like his dad! LOL), and began crying. All I wanted to do was just finish my work first and really my legs just needed a break from crouching down. So I decided that since he was too young to play on the fire truck by himself, I would make him a "safe car" to sit in.
So I took a box and I made him a car.
When I first put him in it he looked at me like, "Are You serious Mom, come on now this is not the same!"

After a few minutes of convincing that this box was just as fun he finally gave in and decided he liked it.

There he sat in his yellow teddy bear pj's until it was time for bed. It might not be like the fire truck he got, but he sure enjoyed it just as much.

Great photos and nice story.
I'm quite a scavenger also, sounds like I need to go to your neighborhood though.
