This is a young adult book by an author I'd read before. I liked the other two books, more sci-fi, firmly rooted in scientific possibility.

This was pure fantasy. Magic, unicorns, enchanted creatures, a hero's journey - although the main character was a female, the device is the same. Family relationships, being chosen ... or not. Feeling left out... finding one's true self.

It was alright, but didn't sweep me off my feet like "Eva" did.
