Have you ever wished that you won the lottery? Probably every one of us has. What would you do with the money, how quickly could or would you spent it? Where do you go when you need money before your next annual lottery payment comes in?
Money for Nothing, written by Edward Uger, is a fascinating book. It goes behind the scenes of lottery winners and shows the true reality. It was interesting to learn how the current lottery system came about, the history was something that I had never known about previously, and Edward explains it well.
The book follows Edward's career at The Firm, a company which sells lottery winners money in exchange for their lottery payments, at a discount. I had no idea that this even existed. I found it interesting the types of characters that worked at this type of company, and how they went about selling to winners. The winners themselves were intriguing, how desperate they become for money, as their sudden landfall does not last as long as expected.
I would recommend this book to anyone who has ever desired to win money. It does show that Free Money is not always as great as it seems at first.
