What are your favorite Vamp Novels of ALL TIME

I'm totally addicted to the "Black Dagger Brotherhood" series by J. R. Ward, and to Charlaine Harris's Sookie Stackhouse novels (soon to be the basis of the HBO series True Blood). Katie MacAlister is fun, too, if you like things on the none-too-serious side. There's also a great collection of lesbian vampires stories called Dark Angels.

I think currently, the Stephanie Meyers and the JD Ward novels are my favorites, but I like updated Vampires. I have not read any that are on your list, though.

Erin- same here with the Black Dagger Brotherhood... Oh, I can not WAIT for the next novel. I bought the first novel about 2 months ago, and blew through it in a day. Then, I had to wait a week till I got a gift card from Gather, and went back to Waldenbooks an scooped up the last 4 books. LOOVE them!

Is it outre to like Anne Rice? Guilty, though there were some stinkers in there.

I haven't read much else, (other than Bram Stoker, which I thought was quite good)

I love Buffy, though (Angel not so much) and my favorite movie is "Innocent Blood"

All of Anne Rice's stuff. It's the only "vamp" I've ever read.

I like Christine Feehan all of her vamps are great and I'm addicted to reading her books, also Sherrilyn Kenyon all of her dark hunter books have fabulous vamps I love them all to pick just one and the JR Ward books are great super vamp characters , Lara Adrian, Kathryn Smith,Keri Arthur (Riley Jenson series-part vamp part werewolf),Shiloh Walker, Kim Harrison, Maggie Shayne ( Wings in The Night series)there is one more that I truely love and because of age can only bring to mind the story line , not the authors name or book title ooops, it sucks to get old !!! Maybe I'll remember later and get back to you on it . I have hundreds more that I have read or that I'm waiting to read !!!

Hmm, well I'm tied between Laurell K. Hamilton, Katie MacAlister, Mary Janice Davidson, and J.R. Ward. I read each of their books for different reasons, like I read Katie when I want to instantly be put in a good mood.

Well for all time's sake I guess I will go with Guilty Pleasures by Laurell K. Hamilton. This lead me to read more of that series, her other books, and they are really good.

I can't think of just one favorite vampire author. I love all the ones that were mentioned above, and then some. It's a fun genre to read for excitement, variety, and for being just plain sexy. I really enjoy reading each writers different take on what it is to be a vampire. The book that got me hooked on this genre was Interview with the Vampire by Anne Rice. The books that I always read no matter what are the Carpathians dark Series by Christine Feehan. The books that are the most exciting "in so many interesting ways" are the Anita Blake Vampire Hunter series by Laurell K. Hamilton. For funny vamps I like the Southern Vampire series by Charlaine Harris, and the undead books about Queen Betsy by MaryJanice Davidson.

There are so many wonderful writers in the vampire genre these days, and I couldn't be happier about that particular fact.

Well, you name it and I'm almost guaranteed to have it. I'm the biggest vamp junkie ever. I have to admit that I own a whole LOT of books (esp. vamp) but I'm just slowly reading them all. To name a few though - Anne Rice (of course! she got me into vamps in the first place), Laurell K. Hamilton (amazing author), LOVE Charlaine Harris' Sookie Stackhouse series, L.A. Banks, Lyndsay Sands, THE HISTORIAN by Elizabeth Kostova (LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE this book!!!), J. R. Ward, MaryJanice Davidson, Keri Arthur, Kim Harrison, Jennifer Armintrout (new series!). Well, there really is no "bad" vampire book, right?? ;o)

Best vampire series of all time: Chelsea Quinn Yarbro's Saint Germain series.

Tanya Huff's Blood series is also outstanding.

Fred Saberhagen's The Dracula Tape is also a great riff on Bram Stoker's original Dracula.

William Mark Simmons' One Foot in the Grave is fun.
