Easter Sunday we were invited for dinner at our friends house, but first I chased after Ashley trying to capture her egg hunt adventures.
Lucky for me she graciously agreed to pose at the end - the rest of the time she never stood still long enough for me to get a shot:)
So come on in ...
Easter wreath at the front door at our friend's house.

The hunt is on! ..... :)

Now where are those special duckie eggs hiding at?

Counting the loot .....:) 71 eggs total have to be accounted for:)
Big sis is looking on ...

I could hardly keep up with all the darting to and fro, you tend to forget how quick kids are at that age.
Meanwhile I'm strolling over to the neighbor's for a quick snap shot of their pretty petunias.

Back inside - big sis is quietly counting her own loot:)

... while the little one contemplates with a look of satisfaction ...
(I tell you it was tough keeping the hairy leg of Uncle Joe on the sofa next to her out of this pic - talk about a photo challenge:)

Isn't she the cutest?

We had a fine Easter dinner with everything from a craw fish boil with corn and potatoes to the traditional Virginia ham, potato salad, asparagus, carrots, corn, double baked cheesy mashed potatoes - lots of home made desserts, enough to go into sugar shock. What can I say - this is a family of foodies and everyone in the family is a great cook, including the men.
Sorry no food pics - I was too busy stuffing my face from the time I got there, starting with shrimp cocktail and a glass of Riesling with a couple of strawberries thrown in.
But, you know me - I just have to share a few pics of Easter at our house, foremost in my garden.
This little Easter Bunny Mama has three little bunnies in her pocket - she patiently sat on my shelf until it was time to go to be added to Ashley's menagerie of stuffed animals. It's a great way for me to indulge my inner child and I admit, sometimes it's hard to part with some of those cute critters.

Richard and I had a talk about the expensive Easter flower bouquet from the florist that he usually surprises me and another lucky lady with at Easter. Live flowers, especially those that I can later plant in my garden are soo much cheaper and a much better investment.
Well, he liked the idea so much I ended up with three different sets of flowers.
Aldi (a cheapo grocery store) had an Easter planter with seven different plants in it for $7.99 - love it:) - can't wait to transplant all those crotons, umbrella plant and that spiky thing and who knows the blue hydrangea may survive too.

Then there was the huge basket of mini petunias in a real nice hanging pot - on clearance at Lowe's ... love it too:)

... then he saw these daisies at the veggie stand and came home with those too. I think that man is a keeper:)
Who doesn't love daisies?

Enjoying his stay in my herb garden - next to the chives, is this little bunny with a cabbage diaper. I have to smile every time I see it.

The view - looking out our living room window - thru the tulips on the window sill.
The tulips already went to cheer up a good friend whose having a breast cancer procedure this week.

Well, my gather friends - I hope you all had a wonderful Easter!

I love your flower photos, though! And I agree, a gift of live plants is so much better than a bouquet that'll wilt away!
JR - thank you:)
Mariana - yup - in the end it's all about the kids and family - friends - good food and a few flowers don't hurt either:)
Blessings and best wishes - S.
I'm mad that you live in Florida. I was there last week and it made me sick to have to leave and come back to 50 degrees and rain. :(
Super photo essay and " Isn't she the cutest?" ,she is a doll. Both of 'em.
