This is our latest addition to the family. We "adopted" him after our neighbor rescued him from her dogs mouth. He must have been taken from it's mother because he was too young to have been weaned when we got him. He refused to be bottle fed though, and would crawl into our male cats bowl and eat his food.

His name is Salem, and when we first got him he was so small he fit in the palm of our hand. He had the biggest blue eyes and was very feisty.

This was about 2 weeks after we got him. He was getting used to his new home, but we had to get used to him being around. He was so small, and he didn't make much noise so he was constantly close to being stepped on. We all went without shoes, so we wouldn't hurt him and we'd feel it if he ran under our feet.

This is a pair of slippers I had for a couple of years but never wore. I decided to get them out when our weather turned unseasonably cold, but I promptly lost them when Salem decided they were a nice bed for him when he wasn't snuggled under our daughters blankets. I couldn't think of a better reason to give them up.

Just another cute one of Salem sleeping in his "bed".
We have had him for over a month now, and he has pretty much taken over the house. We have a husky that will run from him when he arches his back, and our male cat "fathers" him when he thinks it's needed.
The vet said there was nothing wrong with him, but the tip of his left ear was bitten off, and when he mews no sound comes out. The vet said he may not, if something internal was damaged, but other than that he is totally healthy. He's a feisty little devil, and we all have lots of scratches to prove it.

Salem says thank you for the extra scratches behind his ears (and his belly too).
Thank you everyone for looking and posting. Occasionally I'll post updates and new photos so you can all see how he's coming along. Right now he's trying to drink my tea and type on here. LOL
