Coming from a Northern State, we do not have any flowering trees beyond springtime. Coming to Texas I was pleasantly surprised to learn about Crepe Myrtle tree's. They flower in the summer, and the blooms fade & fall off & then they bloom again & again all summer until it starts to get cold out.
Here are some pretty pictures I took today of their beauty. They come in a variety of pinks, white & purples.

I prefer them in pink, they are so vibrant.

This is a side view of about half of the Crepe Myrtle's that are bordering my upper deck.

A macro of the bloom itself. See how crepe-y they look?

A final shot. This shows some of the buds that have not bloomed yet. These trees are so beautiful. I'm glad the previous owner planted them here at our house.
