While shopping at Best Buy yesterday I saw this software while I was looking at some of the photo editing software. It is called Clickfree Automatic Backup for backup digital photos. It backs up up to 6,000 photos depending on the size. You just pop the DVD into your DVD writer and it does the rest. It comes with three DVD already formatted to do the job. I used it today to back up all my photos and it was as easy as it claimed. I had no problems at all. I just had to put in the next DVD as each one filled up and label it. After it is finished you can put one of the DVDs into you drive and it will list all the photos folders and when you click on it the right hand side of the screen tells you which disk to put in to view the photo, or it will show the photo after it loads. You can print, e-mail, make a desktop or restore any photos back to your computer or a new computer whenever you want.
I was doing all this work the hard way onto regular DVDs or CDs and it was so time consuming. I'd work on it a little at a time because it took so long. This took about an hour or so because it was the first time. Each time I add on it will be a lot shorter because it only adds the photos you haven't backed up yet.
Since I'm not really good an explaining things, you can go to the website for more information. I read through all the FAQ section which tells more about what you can do with this. There is no software to install onto your computer and it is for Windows XP and Vista.
On the front of the case it says - "No Software to install - Just insert a Clickfree DVD and it will automatically find and copy all of your digital photos onto the disc. It's that simple." I can attest to that, it was really easy. I still haven't deleted my photos from my computer because I want to be sure it didn't miss any, but all that I have checked so far are there on the disc.
There are also other Clickfree products to backup music and data and one that says Total and one for Office. Check it out, this may be something that you have been looking for. I know I kept wishing for an easier method to copy all my photos to DVD. The only thing I don't know is if it will play on the TV using your DVD player. I'll have to try that out.
I'm interested to hear if anyone else has used this product.
Here is what it looks like:

Don't mind the flower box, I needed to lay it on something and reduce the glare. This is the best photo I got after several tries.

This sounds like a great product - you know I was thinking of saving some of my gather articles on a CD - maybe they have something for that too.
Thanks Melissa, I really liked it and need another one.
she said she lost every image on her computer. Her son just graduated from high school. :-( I will tell her about this product.
I put most of mine on DVDs as well Kimber, but this is quick and I don't have to sit forever putting them onto the dvds, I can do it in my spare time. This actually is a DVD, so it's pretty much the same.
I am going to look into this
God Bless you
Also thank you for commenting on my article
All these photos!!
Thanks a bunch.
If only backing up your pc was that easy!
cheers,gayle
I want to get one now that is a terra-byte in size.
Thanks Mary for commenting and reminding me to update this.
I have been thinking about an external harddrive for just my photos...they are not that expensive from what I have heard.
Also the best way to save your photos is to print them out after backing them up and using matte paper, not shiny or glossy which degrades in 30-50 years as opposed to 100 years for matte.
Sounds like just the thing you needed.
I have an external hard drive for all my photos.
