As a lover of bulldogs and a photographer, I often combine my two passions into one. Sweetpea the bulldog is the keeper of the yard and therefore we spend many hours roaming the perimeter, looking for any new scents. I’ve tried to learn from her, but my senses are not as well developed, a genetic flaw of sorts. She has better eyesight than I do, better sense of smell, more acute hearing. All in all she’s more adapted to her environment. Maybe, we humans have insulated ourselves to such a great degree from our surroundings that we have lost our powers to perceive what is in front, behind, above, below, or beside us.
I’ve decided to take lessons from Sweetpea. She’s now taking me on walks, giving me tours of the yard and the neighborhood. I’m learning to stop and listen, try and hear what she hears, to smell what she smells, and develop the intuitive side of my brain. This could take a lifetime, but I’m willing to give it all the time it takes.
I’m posting a few more Photoshop pictures of Sweetpea. If you look closely you can see into her soul. She bares it for you like a badge of honor.

Or chase squirrles and birds out of the yard.
I want to know how you did that. The little guy is great!
