I have noticed that many folks create wonderful articles and include photos that are not inserted into the body of the article. It took me awhile to figure out how to make this happen, and I thought I would share the process in case there are others who would like to know.

To insert photos in your articles.
1. Upload the photo.
2. Make sure the photo you want to insert is displayed on the upper right side of the text editor page (you can scroll through them using the arrows).
3. Click on Larger Image (this option should be above the photo to the left).
4. Click on the picture, and holding the mouse button down, drag it into the Text editor. (It is usually a good idea to have the cursor in the text editor at the spot where you want the photo, as it will be automatically dropped wherever the cursor is.)
5. Close out the new screen with the larger image and repeat for any additional photos.
I have found when creating photo essays, that it helps to upload all the photos first, then insert them all in the body of the article, and then add your text. There seems to be less chance of losing everything this way.

I usually host my own photos in my essays offsite.
Aside from that, I'd also advise to limit your included photos as too many will lag those that don't have faster internet connections. (Heck, sometimes it lags me and I'm on cable internet) That's the only downside to this method.
That and sometimes gather likes to not POST the actual photos, then it mixes the articles up and threatens to delete another unconnected article when you attempt to edit and fix the correctly coded article --Which happened to me this weekend--
Nice tree picture you hugger you...
Thanks for the info. I couldn't figure it out.
Namaste, Wayne
I am grateful for this post, I now know where to direct others when they want to learn how to do this.
Thanks, Tonia!
