If you speak English, you already know thousands of words in Spanish – chiefly because both languages share Latin as the origin of many words. These words are called “cognates.”

In Spanish, Conocer means to know someone; saber is to know something.
The present tense translation for each verb is: (yo) conozco - (tu) conoces - (el, ella, Usted) conoce - (nosotros) conocemos - (ellos, ellas, Ustedes) conocen (I didn't list the plural familiar form (Vosotros: conoceis) due to its rarity in Latin America). For saber: se - sabes - sabe - sabemos - saben.
I don't know how to put accent marks when writing in this forum, so they're missing.
