It only takes a second

I don’t usually write about things on the television, but I was just watching the news and the events unfolding at the Virginia Institute right now. I look at all those families and I see the pictures of the victims shown while a speaker is speaking, and I know somewhere there are mothers and fathers, wives, husbands, that are ,if not there in that audience, suffering in such grief it will take forever to overcome. A senseless act by a disturbed young man, and his parents must be suffering even more, has caused so many lives to be cut off in their prime. Many faculty it appears were also killed, and they probably leave children behind. My heart goes out to each and everyone of those involved and even in that school. I have first hand experience with this “just in a second loss” and my God in Heaven, give those people suffering some kind of peace. I am still searching for mine.

I agree with you completely Elsie. I know it hurts and sometimes I think it takes a lifetime to heal, as I lost a nephew who was 8 in an accident and passed on. We should pray for each other ~ all the brokenhearted!

This is one of the most saddest events I've known to date. The 9/11 being the worse. I pray for peace to those afflicted with the demons that cause these reactions and also to those that suffer from the actions of those afflicted.

My heart absolutely grieves for the victim's families. Colombine happened when my son was in high school. It didn't matter that he was a few miles away from me in NH, I was shaking until I talked to him and knew he was ok.
I cannot imagine how it feels to be in a nightmare come true.
WHY?

This was shocking. I have a daughter in university and I worry about copycats. What could possibly cause a person to do such violence. Caring and sharing is one of the great reasons to fill pride in being an American. I wonder why this man wasn't noticed to have mental health issues. This is a tragedy beyond belief and a very sad time for many.

Such an unfathomable tragedy. I also was thinking of the young man's parents. What a dreadful thing to know that your son did. I cannot begin to imagine the pain for everyone involved.

I can't believe that what has happened in times past in postal offices and in highschools is now happening on college campuses as well. I am beginning to think that it's just a matter of time before we see things like this happening in any kind of setting or arena imaginable... to where one cannot feel safe no matter where they are. Come quickly Jesus (Yahshua)!
