Yesterday, I got on Gather and decided to go around the message board and respond to other peoples posts. I only decided to respond to a few posts. In all, I only left about 5 messages. Now yesterday, before the messages were sent I had 755 Gather points. Today, I wake up and I get on Gather and I have 756 points. So that tells me that if my math is correct:
1 points/5 posts=0.20 points per post.
That means that apparently when you are posting comments that in order for you to get an entire point that will show up you have to post at least 5 comments. I'm interested in seeing how many points I'm going to get for posting this up.
I will keep you all up to date!

?? Didn't you know about the new Gather point system that Tom had posted about a few weeks ago?
Commenting/viewing other people's work does not earn you any points. You get about 1 point for 'general usage of the site' (seems like that's the magic number - 1 - per day) - but you are really only compensated for publishing original content and getting views on that.
Well, apparently they have changed something in the last few weeks because my points haven't lied.
It is very recent - only a few weeks.
I finally found out last week that you don't get many points for commenting on post.
So you do get points just not a lot!

Interesting, I would say that is about right.
Trying to figure out Gather's point system gives me a headache.
I've only been on Gather about 1 week, and the point system is a mystery to me!
LOL.. I've got Gather's points figured out too.
I figure I just don't worry about points and take what I get and be happy with it.

You posted this to Writing Tips, yet it doesn't contain one writing tip. It's great that you are looking into the point system. Might I suggest you also brush up on group purposes?
There goes Sandy, whacking people as if she owns Gather. I don't care for rules much. I comment, and I post, and I let the chips fall where they may. God forbid, I should post to the wrong site, and get Sandy whacked!
