Before the internet came popular, I was published in a lot of poetry and short story magazines. I've also shown and sold art and have self-published a lot of things. I used to write for my college newspaper when I was a journalism student. But, since the internet became popular, I've been mostly publishing online. Some of it is self-published, some of it is not.

Pretty much I have only published newspaper articles with an occasional by-line and I published my own blog for two years, but that bored me after the first 18 months. (Not enough feedback.)

I am not writing as much on Gather right now, though, as I am intending to find an agent and am re-editing my short stories and my memoir.

I have published one book, Ghost to Coast: A Handbook of Ghost Tours, Paranormal Investigation Groups, and Haunted Hotels, and will have another one out in two weeks, T'ain't Nobody's Business If I Do: Blues Women Past and Present. I've published more than 100 articles online on many subjects. Many of them are available at Associated Content, but I have others in publications and on websites as far away as New Zealand and Denmark. I also have articles on my websites, http://www.ghosttocoast.us and http://www.rhettaakamatsu.com, and have published the newsletter I usually post on here every week, Fabulous Freebies and Fun Links for Kids, for over 1150 subscribers for the last five years.

Whew. Suddenly I feel tired.

Only one piece of poetry and that was back in 97. Some day I would like to put some of my poetry, in a book. Maybe one day when I retire lol! For now I'm happy to have some of them on Gather.

As I always seem to have some cause or another and an opinion on much, there were many letters to the editor back home in our local paper, The News Herald; and of course the articles on Gather, but I do not pretend to be any kind of writer, just always have something to say, lol!
As far as art however, I have promoted and sold a few works done by a local artist here in Phoenix, "Currently known as Dave of Phoenix" (He likes that), that seems to have no idea how to market himself but has to create!

I've done some writing for our community newspaper. And many articles for a Womens newspaper that we had here. I've also written a couple of things for the gay paper here.

In addition I put together a couple of newsletters for different groups I've been and did numerous articles. Also have written many proposals for foundations.

Thousands of resumes for many, many people.

Maybe not published but have performed original comedy that I wrote.

Not published but have had numerous write ups in professional periodicals on Interior Design.

Publish on Gather all the time...

All my writing is technical in nature. I've written two major reports on education and child health that are in the Library of Congress and can be found on ERIC. I have also been the editor of two government publications, written numerous policy manuals, public information pieces, and so forth. That's all work junk though. My personal output is visual art and animation.

Quite a few articles on Gather, Had about 12 poems published by a publishing house in UK. At the moment I am putting together a childrens poetry booklet.

The high school paper in my home town--I was the editor. A couple of poems over the years. A song I wrote in poetry form. Not too much.
I fear rejection. (Which I've had plenty of over the years!) Or failure. Or success. I can't decide which.
