Greetings,
I've been poking around here at gather for a few days now and I figured it was time for a semi-formal author introduction.
My most recent published work is Voodoo and Afro-Caribbean Paganism.
"Awesome. The only book of its kind. " -- Dorothy Morrison, author Everyday Magic
Voodoo and Afro-Caribbean Paganism, by Lilith Dorsey, provides readers with a comprehensive explanation of each religion, a discussion of the many issues they face today, and an up-to-date list of helpful resources. With a forward by well-known pagan icon Isaac Bonewits, Voodoo and Afro-Caribbean Paganism provides what bookshelves have long needed: a clear road to understanding the rituals, history and the shared beliefs of these religions. Anthropologist, author, and filmmaker, Lilith Dorsey, B.A., M.A., is also an initiate of Santeria, Vodou, and New Orleans Voodoo providing her with a unique insight into the sacred material at hand.
Published by Kensington Publishing/ Citadel press and now available at Bookstores and Websites worldwide. Also available in spanish under the title Vudu y Paganismo Afrocaribeno.
Editor, Oshun- African Magical Quarterly 1995-2001
"Veve" published in Parabola 2001
" Ritual Cleaning" and "Creating an Ancestral Shrine" in Llewellyn's Magical Almanac 2001
" Ritual Tattooing" in Tattoo Revue July 2003
I would be happy to discuss any topics related to these subjects, or about writing in general (and how to get paid for it) with any gather readers or writers. I am currently working on both a magickal cookbook, and a guide to psychic photography, and would also love to hear from anyone about these topics.
Thanks for taking the time to read about me, and I hope to have the pleasure of hearing from you soon.
Take care,
Lilith
