A Sign From God

God reveals Himself in many different ways.  In my life, sometimes He reveals Himself in a way I would expect.  Other times, He reveals Himself in a way that is very unexpected.

One day I was feeling very distraught.  I can't even remember now the reason why I was feeling this way.  I was driving down the road during rush hour and there were tears falling down my face.  When I got to the stoplight, I sat there for a moment and said a prayer.  I was needing a sign that God was with me.  Deep down I knew He was, but I was really needing to see an outward sign.

I prayed "Dear God...please show me that You are here with me.  Please give me a sign."

Immediately, a little bird landed on my side view mirror.  My window was down, and that little bird sat there and sang me a song for a good minute or two until the light turned green.  I had to chuckle.  Never in all of my 51 years has a bird sang me a song sitting on my mirror in the middle of rush hour.  I knew it was the sign I was looking for. Immediately my heart filled with joy and my sadness left me.

God works in mysterious ways.  Sometimes we go through life with blinders on and we miss seeing God in the simple things.  May I challenge you to start opening your eyes and to expect miracles, signs and wonders where you might least expect them.  You may be surprised at what you will see or hear... for God goes far beyond what we can imagine.
