I have thought about my strength
Where it originates and comes from
For I have needed a lot lately
To survive the storm to see the sun
I asked a wise person how could I be calm
In the middle of a crisis storm
He explained I had fought many battles and
Each one I won made me strong
My road through life has not been easy
Many bumps and mountains to climb
Somehow I've managed to survive them
And tucked them in the back of my mind
But when I need to be the strongest
A calmness comes over me
I don't think about the outcome
The future's not mine to see
I never worry about the small stuff
Or whatever someone has done hurtfully
All of that seems to solve itself
And my strength builds up peacefully
I know I have more mountains to climb
More desperate moments will test me again
I'll see a rainbow ahead, for in my heart I know
I have God on my side as a friend.

Whether true or not, you're one of the strongest, Elsie.
A calmness comes over me
I don't think about the outcome
The future's not mine to see-----I wish I had this power. Great powem.
life and blood
i have been worried about you and yours lately....
:) wishing you laughter
A calmness comes over me"
Is this because we give it over to a Higher Power (God), knowing we are not in control, and therefore become calm, knowing it is out of our hands? Kind of like grabbing onto your fathers hand when you were three or so, knowing he would lead you on.
Beautifully written. Undying belief.
You do have the strength, calmness, and grace........
All from God..............
Thank you for a lovely poem......
Take care.
This is said so beautifully, with courage and strength, just like you have. You share yourself with so many of us and we all benefit from that.
How is Mark? You're in our prayers...
Hugs,
Marilyn
