First, thank you to all here for the warm welcome to Gather.com. What a wonderful place.
Second, here is my friend's book! It is called "Entheos. How to Find Enthusiam for Life Through Fulfilling Work." "Entheos" means "enthusiasm" or "spirit within."
Entheos is a short, to-the-point book that teaches you to examine your strengths, decide what it is that you do best and enjoy the most, and how to succeed at earning a living doing the things you love. As Ben recently said to me, "If you're doing what you love, then you'll never have to work another day in your life."
What impressed me the most is how easy this book is to read. A reviewer on Amazon said this:
"For my holistic practice, I read many books such as this. I conduct programs to help others find their true selves. In this easy-to-read book, I have found the best of all the other books. Ben has the ability to project an incredible amount of insight in an easy-to-understand language. No gobbledy-gook here -- straight-forward and personable with simple, thought-provoking questions to help you get at the heart of the matter. It is a definite must-read for my clients who are feeling an unrest in their lives and looking for their purpose. Thanks Ben!!!"
Several years ago, Ben was in the midst of a personal, financial and emotional upheaval - a divorce and the subsequent financial disaster that it created. In the first chapter, he describes seeing a man sitting on his balcony drinking his beer, eating his pizza. That man was him. He had packed up everything he had owned and moved to Fort Worth to start over. He had nothing. No furniture in his apartment. In fact, he had worse than nothing. He was deeply in debt. He described to me that he was sitting there just shaking his head in bewilderment - how, at his age, had he managed to end up in such a predicament?
But, this man found a way to turn the worse possible time of his life into something positive. It was at that moment, sitting on the balcony, that the book was born. He took a good, long hard look at himself and realized that he had so much to give. He called his brother-in-law who set him up with a computer and he spent the next several years writing this book in between working full-time in order to support himself and pay off a mountain of debt.
I deeply admire and respect the fact that this man, during the worst possible time in his life, turned it into something so positive. In my opinion, it demonstrates this man's strength of character and positive attitude toward life and lends a huge amount of credibility to his writing.
I hope that you take the time to read an excerpt from the book and then you can decide for yourself. You can read an excerpt on Amazon.com or Barnes and Noble.com.
You can also find out more about the book at Ben's website: bencastille.com If you visit the website, please also check out Ben's poetry page. His poems are free to anyone who wishes to download them. And, if you would, please sign the guestbook or send Ben an email and let him know what you think. He loves to hear from people that have read his writings.
Again, thank you all for your warm welcome here and the opportunity for me to help out a friend. I've never written a review on a book before. I hope that I have done my friend justice.
