Sometimes I feel like I am on a hill all alone with just me and my problems there. Do you know what I mean? Each stage of my life has presented many challenges but I think the time that my daughters left home was the beginning of a whole new set of challenges for me. I was from a large family. I married right out of high school. Shortly after we married, I became pregnant. So I had never really been "alone." However, when the girls left for college, I found myself alone for the first time in my life and I did not like it. I did not like this new "loneliness" feeling. I did not know what to do with myself. I had work to do but I seemed to have a desire to be "needed." Doing my day to day chores did not fulfill this need in me. You have to admit that when you are a mother, wife, homemaker, seamstress, Doctor, nurse, storyteller, cook and everything else, you are "needed" Have you ever felt like that in your life? Can you understand what I am saying?

I would like to introduce you to Joan Anderson. Joan has just written a book that is so "me" that I could have written it myself. She has the ability to not only write about her feelings but she also helps others to deal with those same feelings as well. She is a multi-talented lady. A lady that I think most women can relate to on many levels, no matter what age she is. Joan is a journalist and the best selling author of "A Year By The Sea." She lives with her husband on Cape Cod, Massachusetts.

Joan is the author of " The Second Journey: The Road Back to Yourself." This book gets a 5 Star from me. I loved it. The Second Journey chronicles Joan's quest to restore her own equilibrium as she once again navigates the rapids of change in an effort to find herself. Suffused with her characteristic humor and warmth, this book is a permission slip for any woman who seeks to step out of line and create her own destiny. Does that sound like you?
She offers reassurance that the best is yet to come and empowers other women to come of age in the middle of life.

Joan is the current feature Author in the group Getting Better All The Time. This is a new group but has quickly won me over as a interested reader. I think it will you too.
Joan conducts week-end workshops for women around the country. You can enjoy workshops on Gather or in person! She has been posting her workshops in the form of articles in the group Getting Better All The Time.
Have you been following these "mini workshops" or articles that Joan has been publishing? They are really interesting. I have been enjoying each of them.

I hope that after you read her articles and get to know more about Joan and her new book that you will have some questions for her. I will be chatting with her and passing your questions along to her. Post your questions in the comment area of this article. Have fun and remember "The Best Is Yet To Come" no matter what stage of life you are currently in.
Post those questions. I will get you some answers.

I always like to ask two questions of authors
How has your environment/upbringing colored your writing?
Do you have a specific writing style?
You book sounds like your life too went in different directions. Your book will help others whose life is at that point. Is this what you had in mind when you wrote A New Journey or did it just happen?
