I am hoping this might lead to some good book recommendations...

What was the last book you read, and was it any good?

 

I am currently reading the third book, Road to the Patriarch, in R.A. Salvatore's excellent Sellswords trilogy. These books, which are set in the D&D world of Forgotten Realms, are a spinoff series from his long line of Drizzt Do'Urden stories.

"The Way the Crow Flies", a novel by Anna Marie MacDonald. It's a very long book but a very worthwhile read.

Born On A Blue Day by Daniel Tammet. I thought it was a great book and helped me relate to my situation.

i am reading Lust For Life. a biographical novel about vincent van gogh.

not a bad book, but not as overwhelmingly good as i had hoped.

Don't lets go to the Dogs Tonight - Alexandra Fuller. Memoir of a girl growing up in Africa. Very good. I highly recommend it.

"The Memory Keeper's Daughter" by Kim Edwards. Before that, "Son of a Witch" by Gregory Maguire, the sequel to "Wicked." All those books I loved. Right now I'm reading "Jane Eyre." Never read it before, and now it's time. Loving that one too.

I think I may have mentioned it but I have reread all the Drizzt Do'Urden series. Have you read any of the Terry Goodkind series?

I've not read any Terry Goodkind stuff. He's one of those authors I haven't gotten around to reading yet.

I recently read Everything You KNow by Zoe Heller. It was great ! I also read her book What Was She Thinking ? And I'm now reviewing her book The Believer. (It will be published in January 2009.) She's a fairly new writer. I really like it that her writer's voice can be so varied. In Everything You Know the main character is a male and in What Was She Thinking it was a female--both were very convincing. Just wanted to share with everyone.
I want to start a book club in my area, Honolulu, HI. Anyone out there from Honolulu ?

The Sugar Fix....yes it has a lot of good information in it.

Divorce Poison, also a good book, although I have yet to be able to finish it!
